Monday Night Raw Recap 4/2/12
I don't know how you guys feel about this but the Raw following WrestleMania has always been always been intriguing. You are always interested about the fallout from the previous night and you want to see where the story lines are headed for the next few weeks. But this year's Raw after the WrestleMania was something different. Now I am not going to tell the tradition recap but instead talk about anything event that happened during the show...the crowd.
For those of us to grow up during the Attitude Era, the crowd was the thing that drove the show. The crazier the crowd, the better the show was. People today are always saying that the crowd is mostly dead for the most of the show, and I can't disagree with them there. But Monday was a totally different story.
For those you didn't get a chance to watch the beginning of the show, The Rock opened it and spoke about how his match with John Cena was the biggest in WrestleMania history and how grateful he was for the fans support. Of course, this led to the 'Rocky' and 'Thank you Rocky' chant from the crowd. But probably the best chant during his opening was 'You still got it! *clap clap clap* You still got it.' And he does. Even his interaction with a fan who whistled at him got the crowd going. And the crowd didn't stop there...
Throughout the rest of the night, they were into it. When Santino won his triple threat match, there was a sizable eruption from them. But my favorite chant of the night was 'Yes! Yes! Yes!' Now for those who don't know what I am talking about, this refers to Daniel Bryan. Every time he comes out, especially when he was champ, he would yell 'yes!' And of course those in attendance who are a part of the internet wrestling community started to take it to another level. And I thank you guys for that because it could be the best chant since 'What?!'
So anyway, I think this chant started to pick up some heavy steam during the WWE Championship match between CM Punk and Make Henry. Every time Punk hit a move on Henry, a 'yes' chant occurred but when Henry delivered a blow, a 'no' chant erupted; which I thought was hilarious. It was probably even more hilarious when Henry delivered the World's Strongest Slam on the outside of the ring, you guessed it, a 'no' chant was started. And don't get me started on Alberto Del Rio and the 'Si' chant haha...
But just like anything in life, we save the best for last; and this is no different. The final part came and it involved John Cena. He came out and talked about the match with The Rock. He covered a number of topics regarding the match but the thing that really brought the crowd into was when John Cena admitted he was a loser of the match. And the crowd's response, 'You're a loser.'
And if you thought that was going to be it, well you were wrong. A couple of 'We want Lesnar' chants began regarding the rumor that Brock Lesnar had signed a one year with the company and that he was going to show up on Monday Night Raw. Then Cena starting talking about a couple of more topics, which led to him acknowledging the crowd and their 'yes' chant and then prompted a loud 'yes' chant of their own. Then Cena turned to the camera and said that Daniel Bryan owned him one, thus leading to a 'Daniel Bryan' chant. Then he paused for a couple of moments, leading to a loud 'We want Lesnar' one. And instead of explaining in words what happened, I think I will let the video speak for me this time. Skip to 10:20 and enjoy...

Feb 27: Weekly Review in Wrestling
Alright guys, here's a quick review of the happenings of the past week.
John Cena cut a promo on The Rock during last week's Monday Night Raw. You can click on the video below to see it in case you haven't had a chance to.
No titles changed at the Elimination Chamber pay per view, meaning Daniel Bryan and CM Punk will head into Wrestlemania 28 with the titles.
Speaking of the champions, Bryan is scheduled to take on Royal Rumble winner Sheamus and Punk will tangle with Chris Jericho, who won the over the top battle royal on Monday Night Raw.
Eve confessed that she only used Zack Ryder to get to John Cena and it seems like she only used Cena to hook the biggest fish of all, The Rock.
Ewrestlingnews.com is reporting that Randy Orton is be evaluated by doctors sometime before Raw tonight. As you remember he suffered a concussion the Raw before Elimination Chamber, not only forcing him from competing in the event, but from live events as well.
It looks like something in brewing between the general managers of Raw and Smackdown. Johnny Ace seems like he has the intentions of becoming the general manager of both shows but Teddy Long has something to say about it. Look for something to happen at Wrestlemania to settle this power struggle...
And finally as I noted in my last post, it will be The Undertaker vs Triple H in a Hell in a Cell match. Somewhat curious as to how they are going to hang the cell since the event is going to take place outdoor...in case you guys didn't know that already.
Hopefully that catches you guys up from the all happenings from the previous week. Enjoy Monday Night Raw later tonight.
